Seared pork chops with tender, butter-glazed Hakurei turnips and their greens, all in one skillet.

Serves: 2 Β· Total time: 30 min

From this delivery

  • 1 bunch Hakurei turnips, halved (quartered if large), greens washed and roughly chopped

Recommended Iron & Acre additions

From your pantry

  • Neutral oil or olive oil
  • Kosher salt and black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey or sugar (optional)

Method

  1. Pat the pork chops dry and season generously with salt and pepper. Let them sit at room temperature while the skillet heats.
  2. Heat a little oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chops 4–5 minutes per side, until they reach 145Β°F. Transfer to a plate to rest.
  3. Lower the heat to medium. Add the turnips cut-side down with 2 tablespoons butter and Β½ cup broth. Cover and cook 5–7 minutes, until just tender.
  4. Uncover and simmer until the liquid reduces to a glossy glaze, adding honey if you like. Stir in the turnip greens and cook about 1 minute, until wilted.
  5. Return the chops and any resting juices to the pan, spoon the glaze over everything, and serve.
