Part-Time Farm Pickup
& Delivery Driver.

We are looking for a dependable part-time driver to pick up food from our farm and producer partners and deliver completed orders to customers across the North Shore and surrounding communities.

As Iron & Acre grows, this role is best suited to someone who values flexibility and does not require a guaranteed number of weekly hours.

The role

What you’ll do.

  • Pick up products from farms, bakeries, makers and producer partners.
  • Deliver completed grocery orders to customers.
  • Transport refrigerated, frozen and shelf-stable food safely.
  • Load and unload boxes, bags and cold-chain materials.
  • Follow assigned routes and customer delivery instructions.
  • Communicate promptly about delays, substitutions or delivery problems.
  • Treat customers, producers and their property with care.
  • Occasionally assist with basic delivery-day organization.

The essentials

What you’ll need.

  • A valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • A reliable personal vehicle suitable for carrying grocery orders.
  • Current vehicle registration and legally required automobile insurance.
  • The ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • A smartphone capable of running routing and communication applications.
  • Comfort driving throughout the North Shore and greater Chicagoland area.
  • Dependability, punctuality and clear communication.
  • Careful attention to orders, addresses and delivery instructions.

Experience in delivery, logistics, hospitality, food service or customer service is helpful but not required. Reliability and care matter most.

Schedule & compensation

Clear expectations.
Flexible work.

  • $20 per hour.
  • Part-time, demand-based hours. No guaranteed minimum number of hours.
  • Work concentrated around farm pickups, packing days and delivery routes.
  • Deliveries currently occur every other week and may become weekly as demand grows.
  • No benefits are currently offered with this position.
  • Business-driving expenses will be handled under Iron & Acre’s written reimbursement policy.
