Orange Bell Pepper Sauce
This vibrant orange bell pepper sauce is a flavorful and versatile condiment that brings a burst of sweet pepper flavor to any dish. Its beautiful color and tangy-sweet taste make it perfect for drizzling over pasta, grilled meats, or roasted vegetables.
Ingredients:
- 4 large orange bell peppers, seeded and chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar or lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup vegetable or chicken broth
- Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes for heat
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the chopped orange bell peppers and cook until they begin to soften, about 6‑8 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the vinegar, add the salt and black pepper, and pour in the broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook until the peppers are very tender, about 10 minutes.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Transfer the contents to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes if you prefer a bit of heat.
- Allow the sauce to cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to one week. Serve with your favorite dishes and enjoy!
